So as we can see things are changing on a daily basis and things of the past are being flipped. In no way is this something negative or a thing to be feared. On the contrary, these are things to be embraced, celebrated, and frankly, these things should have been realized a long time ago. If you don’t know what I mean, then I am talking about the progress made by females and different ethnicities obtaining these positions of power and respect. In case you were in a coma for the last 6 years, you already know that our 44th president was the first African-American to be elected. By his side, he had none other than Michelle Obama who has been so inspirational and is determined to make a difference. Now we have two Muslim women in the U.S. House, as well as Native American women, and many more. You can also look into some of these fortune 500 companies that are run by females. For example, you have so many CEO’s such as Mary Barra (General Motors), Ginni Rometty (IBM), FLO’s boss Tricia Griffith (Progressive) and Indra Nooyi (PepsiCo) who is also Indian American. This is across the spectrum as well, one woman I truly admire because of her passion and message is the lovely Mexican-America Karina Luna. If you don’t know who she is I will post a couple of her links below but she is an actress/comedian/filmmaker/writer. I have always felt like she is a great role model for females everywhere in which she brings awareness by her actions not just looks. I think it is vital that we have more ethnicities, and gender in every type of role the world provides so that we can all have a voice. Only having males or one ethnicity running everything would be like only eating pizza but giving your critique on burgers. Essentially, your opinion will be based on something you never took the chance to get to know. This also goes both ways, we have more and more males taking roles that back then were viewed as being held only by females. Interior designers, make-up artist, nurses, receptionist, child care are just some of the fields. We need to open all these positions to whoever is qualified no matter the gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. We need to embrace these new changes as we can obviously see that those old ways don’t work or can be improved. It doesn’t hurt or take away from anyone to have a woman take a role that was considered a “male only” or a male be in a “female only” field. We need to get rid of these old ideologies because we have fought, endured, and evolved into so much more than men do this and women do that. We need to empower our daughters, sons, fathers, mothers, sisters, and everyone else to achieve greatness. This statement goes for everyone, we need to stop tearing each other down and instead push each other to be better. If we all help each other to be better and one of us succeeds, we all succeed. With that said remember to spread the positivity, spread the joy, love without boundaries and live your life to the fullest.
